The girls had already got through the group stage and they played really well in the finals. Still a really positive result seeing that the girls had already got through the group stages. We want to say to the girls that everyone at Birchwood is super proud of you all, you all played really well. Well done girls.

Some of our Year 6 children had a lot of fun at the Sports Hall Athletics Competition before half term and managed to come second place from the schools that took part in North Warwickshire.

I also took part in the chest bounce which was fun and amazing. Javelin throwing and the triple long jump was also incredible. As a team, we did many more things that were equally as exciting,'  Korlie.

Well done to all of our runners who tried their very best. Congratulations to Alex (Year 4) who came 17th and did gain a place in the Warwickshire championships. After an extremely close match, Birchwood beat them by half a rounder, securing a place in the next round in two weeks time.

All children played with passion, teamwork and spirit and were praised for their sportsmanship. We wish them all good luck at this event and look forward to finding out how they have got on.

Thank you to everyone who came to support us at the event.

The Year 6 Netball Team played in a High 5 Tournament at the Polesworth School on Wednesday. They won two games, drew a game and lost two games. They narrowly missed out on a place in the Semi Finals due to another school having a slightly higher goal difference. The heavy rain didn’t dampen the team’s mood and staff from other schools commented on how well they played and how well mannered they were. Yet again another sports team who were a credit to Birchwood!
