This year we made some changes to how we delivered our sports days across school, with the main aim of increasing participation and enjoyment for children. Instead of running for their House, children were competing for their class, with the target of being this year’s trophy winners!
On Monday, Reception children had their own sports day and all got to take part in the seven events planned. The children all really enjoyed their afternoon and were very keen to tell me how they had got on in their races and to show off all their stickers.
Well done to Acorn class, this year’s Reception winners.
When it was the turn of Year 1 and 2 on their reserve day, the children were all very competitive and were cheered on by a large crowd made up of their families and friends.
Well done to Hazel 1 class, our Year 1 winners and well done to Juniper 2 class, this year’s Year 2 winners.
On Wednesday, our Year 3 and 4 children took part in twelve different events. Adding short and long sprints enabled all children to take part in an extra event. The children all performed excellently and showed fantastic sportsmanship by supporting and cheering on each other.
Well done to Maple 3 class, our Year 3 winners and well done to Pine 4 class, this year’s Year 4 winners.
Thursday was our final sports day afternoon of the week and involved children in Years 5 and 6. The event went and our children were brilliantly behaved as always.
Well done to Sycamore 5 class, our Year 5 winners and well done to Willow 6 class, this year’s Year 6 winners.
Well done to everyone who took part and a big thank you to all our friends and family who came out to support the events.
