Easter Holiday
This week sees the end of the Spring Term. We are two thirds of the way through the school year and the progress that has been achieved in school is excellent. January feels like a distant memory and it never fails to amaze me how quickly things move on in school.
Today we finished our Spring Term off in typical Birchwood style with our Egg-ceptional KS2 Egg Creation Egg-hibition, followed by our Egg-plosive Reception and KS1 Easter Bonnet Egg-travaganza! Thank you to all the parents who came to support the Easter Parade and help their children with their egg creations. The children all looked brilliant in their bonnets and the egg creations just get better each year! Congratulations to our winners
I am very grateful for all the continued support parents give to myself and all of our wonderful staff at Birchwood. Our staff care immensely about all of our children and go above and beyond to ensure that they all achieve their very best.
Thank you also for your continued support this term with homework, parents evening attendance, IEP meetings and the huge crowds of parents who regularly attend our assemblies in school. Taking an interest in your child’s education has a really positive impact on their learning and progress. Teaching and learning really is a team effort and our children are lucky to have us all on their side.
The Easter holidays are a chance for us all to relax and spend quality time with friends and family. 2 weeks is a long time to be out of school, but regular reading and times table practice will help keep children ticking along. I know that our Year 6 pupils will have their Easter SATs packs to keep them entertained during the holidays in preparation for their very important tests when they return.
I hope you all have a fantastic Easter and enjoy some sunny warmer weather. We look forward to having you all back in school for more exciting challenges over the summer term.
