Enchanted Woodland
In Maths Year 1 have created and described arrays. We then used our 'X' sign to create multiplication calculations.
Year 1 and 2 children were all very excited to take part in our Sports Day afternoon and performed brilliantly, giving their best effort in all of their races. It was heartening to see all our children supporting one another and feeling proud of their own achievements. Well done all!

Rio de Vida
This week, our Year 1 children proudly shared some of the exciting learning they have enjoyed throughout the year during their class assembly. They sang, danced, and confidently recited poetry — what a fantastic performance! Well done to Elm and Hazel Class for such a wonderful showcase of their hard work and enthusiasm.
Hazel 1 have been using Bee-Bots to programme robots. We learned what each button meant and how to programme the bot. We used directions and planned routes for our groups to programme and solve.
Hazel 1 have been using cubes in maths to measure different objects. We carefully added the cubes one at a time until the scales balanced.
Today we have been lucky enough to have the fire service visit us. We all learned how to stay safe, what to do if a fire occurs and how to prevent one. We all have a pack with information and activities to take home too!
In Maths this week we have been using non-standard units of measure. We used hands to measure objects around the classroom and paper clips and cubes to measure pieces of ribbon.
We’ve returned from Easter and our tulips have grown incredibly well - the children are really proud of our planting. We will be looking at the different stages of growth of our flowering plants in the coming months, but for now we are enjoying their bright, vibrant colours.
Hazel 1 have been comparing length and height in maths. We have used cubes to make various lengths and made comparisons. Then we had a go at comparing our own height by ordering ourselves from shortest to tallest.
As part of our Geography topic, the children have looked at an enormous map of the world, locating the seven continents on it. They have also learned a rather catchy song - I’m sure they will share it with you!
