We have enjoyed practicing our hockey skills this half term, particularly focusing on dribbling the hockey ball carefully and passing the ball from one person to another.
Year 5 kicked off the first class assemblies with style this week and they got a resounding 'très bien' from their audience! We took everyone on a whistle stop tour of the wonderful world of languages, inspired by the European Day of Languages and a celebration of all the languages spoken around our amazing school. Did you know that there are at least 11 languages spoken by families and staff in our school? These include Spanish, Portuguese, Albanian, French, Cantonese, Mandarin, Romanian, German, Polish, Shona and Zulu. We found out a little about where each language was spoken and some basic phrases. We also enjoyed learning two songs using our language skills, including a French rap, and a poem about languages. Year 5, you did yourselves, your families and your teachers proud. Well done!
Teak have enjoyed learning all about Forces in our Science Lessons. We have carried out investigations looking at friction, air resistance and water resistance. We have discussed how to make our investigations fair, what to keep the same and which factor we are changing. Results did not always match our predictions so we have enjoyed thinking about the reasons behind this, and using our knowledge of forces to help explain.
